Doctoral Programmes 2025/2026: Técnico announces 1st call for applications until 20 July

The doctoral programmes at Técnico focus on research projects, entrepreneurship and internships with companies.

The 1st call for applications and evaluation for the Doctoral Programmes (3rd cycle) runs from 16 June to 20 July 2025.

Applications are accepted year-round and must be submitted exclusively online. However, they will only be reviewed during the defined application periods.

During the doctoral programme, students actively participate in national and international research projects, and are encouraged to patent innovative research results and foster an entrepreneurial mindset.

The doctoral programmes are offered in collaboration with national and international universities, with the option to earn a double degree.

In 2024, Técnico inaugurated its new Doctoral School, which is increasingly committed to enhancing internships with companies and providing training in transversal skills, including artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship and science communication.

With the transition to a digital format for the 3rd cycle, the upcoming application process for the Doctoral Programmes at Técnico Doctoral School will, for the first time, be conducted using the Connect platform. Guidelines for registration and identity validation are available on the portal. For any questions or clarifications, please contact the Post-graduation Unit.
