IST Press has published the 2nd edition of the book “Introdução à Análise Complexa, Séries de Fourier e Equações Diferenciais” (“Introduction to Complex Analysis, Fourier Series and Differential Equations”) by Pedro Martins Girão.

The book highlights several topics in geometry, namely conformal transformations, direction fields and phase portraits, and includes 180 geometric figures that make the reading clearer and more exciting.

Differential equations are applied to solve problems related, for example, to reservoir overflows, electrical circuits, motion of springs and celestial bodies, heat transfer and wave propagation.
