Instituto Superior Técnico will host the KIC SELECT Spring Seminar, an annual event that brings together 1st and 2nd year students from all partner universities within SELECT Programme. From 8th to 11th May, 100 students and programme managers will participate in several activities at Técnico – Alameda campus and Museu da Electricidade. This event aims to “further engage students in the programme”, assured professor Duarte Mesquita Sousa, responsible for SELECT Programme at Técnico.

Professor Luís Miguel Silveira, Vice-president for International Affairs, opened the session held at Abreu Faro amphitheatre and made a brief presentation of Técnico and its outstanding position in international rankings. The professor also highlighted the fact that Técnico has students from different nationalities “as a result of the strong and several partnerships celebrated with different universities”. “Return to Técnico whenever you want, because you are always welcome”, he said.

The first day included two lectures on sustainable energy and regulation of the Portuguese and European systems. The event will also include practical activities involving the different partners. According to professor Duarte Mesquita Sousa “these four days will be really intense”.
