The solemn swearing-in session of the deputy directors of Instituto Superior Técnico took place on 27 February 2025, in the Main Building’s meeting room, at Alameda campus.
15 deputy directors took office at a ceremony conducted by Rogério Colaço, the president of Técnico, and attended by the Governing Board (Vice-Presidents and Administrator).
“Having ideas and putting them into practice is a more challenging journey than simply having ideas or lacking them”, said Rogério Colaço, emphasising that the deputy directors “play a crucial role in turning ideas into reality” and therefore do a “very important job”.
Rogério Colaço recalled the importance of deputy directors who ‘help in certain specific functions’, as demonstrated during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The current Governing Board took office in January 2024. More recently, in January 2025, the School’s new governing bodies, the Heads of Department and the course coordinators, were sworn in.
