The Académie d’Architecture, based in Paris (France) has honoured Ana Tostões – who was recently elected a corresponding member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences – with the Médaille de la critique et des publications, Prix Académie d’Architecture 1965. The medal will be awarded on 18 September at the French academy.
The medal is given to an editor, journalist, or film-maker who has enriched the architectural debate through their writings, publications, or achievements.
The French scientific society aims to enhance the quality of architecture and spatial planning, protect the environment, provide perspectives on architectural and urban planning issues, and conduct research and archival preservation on the history of architecture.
At the same time, the academy organises conferences, exhibitions and honours architects and professionals from other fields linked to architecture.
