Professor Fernando Branco, Full Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Georesources (DECivil), was awarded the title of Honorary Senator of the Senate of the European Economic Forum, for his work at the European Council Of Civil Engineers (ECCE) and for “his outstanding commitment to small and medium-sized European enterprises and liberal professions”.
Under his leadership, from 2012 to 2014, ECCE was accepted for the first time to the High-Level Tripartite Forum for the Construction Sector in Europe, promoted the “Engineers Image” with the preparation of the second European Engineers’ Day and implemented the ECCE card, among other things.
Professor Fernando Branco is the first Portuguese to integrate this Senate, an advisory board formed by political and business leaders. “This appointment makes me very proud as it is a recognition of my work at ECCE.”
