Técnico professors recognised as IAHR Fellows in Singapore

Contributions to hydro-environment engineering and research were at the origin of this distinction.

Rui Lage Ferreira and Jorge Matos, professors at Instituto Superior Técnico and researchers at the Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability (CERIS), were recognised as IAHR Fellows by the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR). The official announcement of their IAHR Fellowship took place during the IAHR Awards & Congress Dinner at the 41st IAHR World Congress in Singapore on 26 June 2025.

Both professors are recognised for their outstanding contributions to hydro-environment engineering and research and their longstanding dedication to the IAHR community.

Rui Lage Ferreira, whose involvement with IAHR spans from participating in international congresses to serving on the IAHR Council, reaffirmed his commitment to furthering IAHR’s mission of engaging scientific communities and advancing research in hydraulics, fluid mechanics, sediment mechanics, and related fields. Jorge Matos serves on the Hydraulic Structures Technical Committee since its foundation.
