More than €20,000 in prizes, a trip to Finland and the opportunity to represent your university at one of the world’s largest hackathons: this is what is at stake at JunctionX Lisbon 2026, taking place on 10 and 11 October at the Oeiras Campus of Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa.

JunctionX Lisbon 2026 is an international technology and artificial intelligence hackathon open to students from any university and any nationality. Participation is completely free and includes food, drinks and a dedicated space to rest throughout the event.

Over the weekend, teams of 1 to 5 students will develop solutions to real-world challenges proposed by companies, while gaining hands-on experience, learning new skills, meeting international students and connecting with companies and professionals in the technology sector.

The winning team will also have the opportunity to represent their university at Junction 2026 in Espoo, Finland, from November 13–15. The winning team will have their participation at Junction guaranteed, representing their country and university at one of the world’s leading gatherings for innovation and hackathons.

Confirmed partners for JunctionX Lisbon 2026 include NOS, Sensei, Inspiring Solution and Albatroz Engenharia, alongside technology community partners such as Jane Street, Lovable, n8n and SSOJet.

Around 150 participants will be selected through an application process. No previous hackathon experience is required: we are looking for motivated students who want to learn, build and collaborate.
