The online course on the theory “Dynamic Energy Budget” is an introduction to the theory that explains the metabolism of organisms with many relevant applications. Being universal it allows the modelling of any organism and its exchanges with the outside.
This theory allows, for example, the prediction of greenhouse gas emissions from a cattle or the effect of climate change on a tropical fish.
No prior knowledge of the theory is assumed, and will follow the construction of a standard model that can be applied to many types of organism (from a Daphnia to a bird). The three generalised transformations that occur in the organism will also be presented: assimilation, dissipation and growth.
The course is aimed at anyone interested in biological modelling and also for participants of the Seventh International Symposium and Thematic-school on DEB.
Course start date: 4th March 2021
Course end date: 23rd April 2021.
Applications deadline: 18th March 2021.
