Applications are open for the 1st call of the Doctoral Programme in Planetary Health Studies at Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa), which aims to address critical global challenges at the intersection of health, environmental, social and political sciences. The 1st call of applications runs from 3 to 28 March 2025.
With a transdisciplinary and solution-oriented approach, the programme will allow students to develop, test, and refine solutions, applying them in laboratory or simulation environments through collaborative teamwork. The programme brings together professors and researchers from the 18 ULisboa schools, including Instituto Superior Técnico, promoting a collaborative research ecosystem with a global impact.
Throughout the first year, students will come into contact with various areas of knowledge and can specialise in one of the six strands of the programme: Climate Change and Health, Global Health, Health in Extreme Environments, Policies and Governance in Planetary Health, Tropical Health and Urban Health.
A 2nd call of applications will be opened between 12 May and 6 June 2025. Applications can be submitted through the programme’s official website, where additional information about the curriculum and admission requirements is available.
