Damian Schofield, Director of Human Computer Interaction at the State University of New York, shared with the audience how the technologies used in computer games can be applied in different areas, namely in education and criminal investigations.
According to Damian Schofield “moving images attract a lot more people”. In a simple way, the speaker explained how these technologies from computer games can meet the needs of different areas, giving examples of his past and current projects.
Education, criminal investigation, industrial evaluation and facial reconstruction are some of the applications of three-dimensional graphic technology. “The sophisticated level of realism and the high level of detail adjusted to a modern audience with high level of visual literacy” were outlined by the researcher as the main benefits of these technologies.
At the end of his speech, Damian Schofield noted that these applications reflect a fact: “if we take a good look, computer games are instilled in our daily life”.
