Enrolment for training courses in transversal skills at Técnico Doctoral School is open until 12 September 2025. These curricular units are available on the Fénix platform and can be selected by PhD students, in consultation with their supervisors, in areas such as research ethics, project management, science communication, and entrepreneurship.
Enrolment takes place during the 3rd cycle enrolment process, which runs from 1 to 12 September 2025, provided that the respective processes have been completed and approved. PhD students, from the second year onwards, may also enrol in the Curricular Units until 8 September.
These training courses in transversal skills are part of the Técnico Doctoral School’s programmes and are intended for all PhD students, contributing to the development of additional skills relevant to their academic and professional careers.
The Técnico Doctoral School was presented on 4 November at the opening of the 10th edition of PhD Open Days – it brings together Técnico’s 31 doctoral programmes, implements a training programme in transversal skills, offers a Fast Track programme for entry into the 3rd cycle aimed at Técnico master’s students, promotes internships in companies or in an international environment, including cotutelle PhDs, and supports the PhD Student hub (which brings together the community of doctoral students around common experiences and interests) among other initiatives. Another new feature is the compilation of funding opportunities for PhD students, including all the research grants offered by the 23 research units affiliated with Técnico.
