«From January 12 to 15, 2026, the first COST EPIGRAPHY School & Workshop (Edge Deep Learning for Particle Physics) will take place at Instituto Superior Técnico.
This international event focuses on the development of machine learning algorithms for real-time inference, with applications in FPGAs and ASICs, and includes both a school and a workshop.
The event is co-organised by the Laboratory of Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics (LIP), Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores – Investigação e Desenvolvimento em Lisboa (INESC-ID) and Instituto Superior Técnico, and features a School & Workshop open to the public, with online transmission via Zoom.
As part of the EPIGRAPHY initiative, we would like to highlight the public colloquium, taking place on January 13, 4.30 p.m., at the Abreu Faro Amphitheatre.
The colloquium will feature a talk by Thea Aarrestad (ETH Zurich), followed by a panel discussion with Arlindo Oliveira and Mário Figueiredo, focusing on highly optimised artificial intelligence models for real-time big data processing.
