Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade da Beira Interior and Instituto Superior de Educação e Ciências de Lisboa, are pleased to announce the 27th World Conference of the Air Transport Research Society), from 30 June to 4 July 2024.

This conference provides insights on the fast increase in the use of air passenger and on high-value cargo transportation in the last decades, and the factors influencing it. The high increase in the demand for air transportation imposes great challenges for maximizing the efficiency of aircraft (airside) operations as well as for managing the airport infrastructure, both in terms of internal passenger flows and for safeguarding efficient airport access. This trend is expected to continue over the next years. Thus, a continuous reflection is necessary regarding the most appropriate models of exploitation and segmentation to ensure the full use of existing and/or future infrastructures.
