The Mind-Brain College at Universidade de Lisboa will host the meeting ‘A Mind-Brain Day: Science and Society in Dialogue’, on 28 November, at 3 p.m. The event is free and will take place at Pavilhão de Portugal.
The initiative aims to bring science closer to society by promoting open dialogue and joint reflection.
The session will include a discussion with guest speakers from various fields, thus providing a multidisciplinary conversation.
Participants will also have the opportunity to visit workstations where they can learn about different approaches to the study of the mind, brain, and cognition. Each station will include practical and interactive demonstrations, designed for all ages, ensuring an educational and dynamic experience for the public.
Instituto Superior Técnico will be represented by the Evolutionary Systems and Biomedical Engineering Lab (LaSEEB), a research laboratory at the Institute for Systems and Robotics (ISR-Lisboa). At this station, participants will be able to discover how brain function is studied using neuroimaging techniques such as EEG (electroencephalogram) and magnetic resonance imaging.
