The book “Geostatistical Methods for Reservoir Geophysics” by Amílcar Soares and Leonardo Azevedo will be launched on June 27, at 3.30 p.m.

The recent natural resources discoveries present huge challenges to oil and gas industry, as well as to mining industry.

Integrating geophysical data in the assessment of uncertainty and risk of new targets has become one of the priority in this R&D activity sector.

This book presents the recent developments of geostatistical methodologies for the integration of geophysical information in oil reservoir modeling. The stochastic models of seismic and electromagnetic inversion are presented and illustrated by a large set of applications in real study cases of reservoirs in Brazil, Angola and Middle East.

The book will be presented by Técnico faculty: professor Arlindo Oliveira (President of IST), professor António Costa Silva and professor Mário Figueiredo.
