«VitaC is an engaging monthly seminar series designed to explore and highlight the latest research initiatives within the Center for Innovation in Territory, Urbanism and Architecture (CiTUA) at Instituto Superior Técnico, providing a dynamic platform for researchers to present their work, engage in various debates and promote innovation through collaboration.

On 17 December, Rita Castel’ Branco will present “Urban Porosity: What is it, why does it matter and how can we restore it?”. The seminar will address the concept of urban porosity, its historical origins, and its relevance in contemporary urban planning. Based on an analysis of five Lisbon neighbourhoods, the study highlights how regulations contribute to fragmented landscapes and suggests ways to revise.»
