Professor Jorge Pereira, Principal Scientific Officer at the European Commission, will present a conference at Técnico – Alameda Campus and Taguspark Campus, on 27th and 28th October respectively.
This conference aims to disseminate the opportunities of internships in the European Commission focused on ICT, and to address European Commission’s main priorities for the future, within Horizon 2020 programme.
Professor Jorge Pereira obtained his Engineering and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in 1983 and 1987 respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering-Systems at the University of Southern California, in 1993.
Professor Jorge Pereira worked at GTE Laboratories until 1996, in the areas of Wireless Data and Intelligent Transportation Systems. He has been working in the European Commission since 1996 and, currently, he is Principal Scientific Officer at the European Commission in DG Information Society & Media.
