The event “Cryptography: The Need and the Dilemma – Debate and Prize” will take place on 11 December, from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., at Técnico – Almeda campus, in the Civil Engineering Building.
On the occasion, the “Best Portuguese Internet Research of the Internet Society 2024” award will be given to Daniela Lopes, a doctoral student working on a research project funded by CMU Portugal at Instituto Superior Técnico and Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores – Investigação e Desenvolvimento (INESC-ID), for her work titled “Flow Correlation Attacks on Tor Onion Service Sessions with Sliding Subset Sum”.
The Award was established by the Internet Society Portuguese Chapter (ISOC.PT) to promote and reward the best research results carried out in Portugal, with relevance and potential future impact on the evolution of the Internet, in line with the Internet Society’s main goals.
