Environmental and health impacts of lifetime extension of nuclear power plants

The IAIA International workshop on environmental and health impacts of lifetime extension of nuclear power plants will take place on 5th June 2019, from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. This workshop is part of the Espoo Convention (UNECE) on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context.

The 6th meeting of the Ad hoc working group on lifetime extension of nuclear power plants, will take place on 3rd and 4th June.

Besides the Ad hoc working group members (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Slovakia, Finland, France, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, European Commission) the workshop will be attended by the Secretary to the Espoo Convention (Tea Aulavuo), the Secretary on the Implementation Committee of Arhus Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in decision-making, and Access to Justice in environmental issues (Fiona Marshall), the New IAIA President Ben Cave, and the IAIA representative at the EIA working group within the Espoo Convention (Maria do Rosário Partidário).

Experts from the OECD, the World Health Organization, Universities, Environment Ministries and NGOs will also participate in the workshop.

The workshop will be held in English.
