Explain it like I’m 5 – Alexandra Antunes

Facebook Live @tecnico.ulisboa.pt

How are magic potions made?

With a cauldron or a chemical reaction? With exotic ingredients like bat wings, or with molecules? What is a molecule? Is medicine a potion? How to turn molecules into medicines? What happens when we take a medicine and how can we take it safely?

On Saturday, 24th July, at 11:00, Alexandra Antunes, researcher at Centro de Química Estrutural (CQE) and Chemistry professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, will go live on Técnico facebook to answer these questions.

Please send us your questions ahead of time to explicame@tecnico.ulisboa.pt or join us live on Facebook.

ABOUT THE TALKS
Explain it like I’m 5 – talks at Técnico for children and other curious people of all ages” is designed for young people, opening a door to get to know Técnico research and to ask our scientists a question- even at a distance. Older people can come as well, if the children let them. The talks take place on Saturdays live on Facebook and can be watched later.

24th July 2021, 11:00-12:00
