How does a laboratory that fits in the palm of your hand work?

Have you ever visited a laboratory or seen one on television? Now imagine a laboratory that fits in your hand! It is very small, but it does everything that large laboratories do, and helps scientists to better understand nature and our bodies.

On 12 November 2025, at 10 a.m., live at Técnico – Alameda campus, we will be joined by Vânia Silvério, researcher at INESC Microsistemas e Nanotecnologias (INESC MN) and invited assistant professor at the Department of Physics of Instituto Superior Técnico, who will answer these questions.
