Técnico will once again be joining the celebrations of the International Microorganism Day – IMD, which aims to promote Microbiology, highlight its importance in our lives, and the professional careers that are associated with it. The IMD is celebrated on 17th September and this year the ceremony goes virtual, via Zoom.
Técnico will organise two lectures (morning and afternoon) on 17th September 2021, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. An information session will also take place on training offer and courses (three study cycles), in which Microbiology plays a relevant role.
The IMD 2021@Técnico commemorative website, created by professors and researchers from the Department of Bioengineering (DBE) and the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences (iBB), provides detailed information about the programme, speakers, past editions and microbiological learning materials.
The International Microorganism Day 2021 will be recorded and accessible on Youtube.
24-hour online marathon
- A 24-hour live stream of talks and discussions will be organised worldwide, with the participation of professor Isabel Sá-Correia and Dr Cláudia P. Godinho.
- The marathon starts on 16th September (11 a.m., Lisbon time) and ends on 17th September (11 a.m., Lisbon time).
