«The first IP Talks of 2023 will take place on March 20th, with the workshop titled “State of the Art Search”, and includes a lunch box for the first 25 registrations.
Searching the state of the art is an essential task for inventors and institutions that intend to submit a patent application, ensuring that one of the granting requirements, novelty, is fulfilled.
State-of-the-art research can also be an important tool in defining and developing the research activity.
Tiago Andrade (Patent Attorney at J. Pereira da Cruz, S.A.) will present some patent search databases, in particular Espacenet, a free patent search tool made available by the European Patent Office (EPO). The session will be divided into two parts: a first one dedicated to the presentation of the theme and a second one dedicated to practical exercises.
