The book “Fundamentos do Planeamento Regional e Urbano”, by Manuel da Costa Lobo, published by IST Press will be launched on October 14th, Friday, at 7 p.m. in the Civil Engineer Museum.

The book will be presented by professor Fernando Nunes da Silva.

This work addresses the main concepts, topics and problems of Regional and Urban Planning besides considering solutions and presenting application and knowledge assessment exercises, which will be of great use not only for students, professors and urbanism professionals, but also for other areas of knowledge, namely architecture, geography, law, history and sociology. It is, therefore, both a good introduction to the fundamentals of this field of knowledge and a manual of best practices. Additionally, the book provides a critical reflection on the main questions that the subject raises.

This edition, revised, expanded and commented, includes new chapters written by the author, and comments from Técnico professors (Planning, Urbanism and Environment curricular units), who updated and added new topics and perspectives.
