«The lecture “Engineering in Humanitarian Action” – Doctors Without Borders will take place on 27 October, from 1 p.m. to 2.30 p.m., in room VA2 (Civil Engineering Building, Floor -1), within the scope of the Humanitarian Engineering Curricular Unit. The lecture will be given by a Doctors Without Borders representative in Portugal (João Antunes) and a Técnico alumnus who currently works for the organisation. The lecture is open to all Técnico students interested in the subject.

The speakers will share their experiences of working in a humanitarian context. The organisation doesn’t just involve health professionals, but also specialists in various areas, such as information technology, construction, energy, water and sanitation, and logistics, among others. All Doctors Without Borders employees are paid professionals with previous work experience. Doctors Without Borders does not work on a volunteer basis or with recent graduates.
