«As part of the IST-CiTUA ARCH TALKS SPRING 2024 lecture series, professor Josefina Cubero (ETSA Valladolid) will be giving three talks on April 22nd, 23rd and 24th at the DECivil Museum from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the theme “Architecture and Cinema”.

These talks are promoted by the Center for Innovation in Territory, Urbanism and Architecture (CiTUA), and coordinated by Ana Tostões, professor and researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico.

April 22nd – “Sinfonias Urbanas ou a Cidade que cabe na Tela”
April 23rd – “Vistas e dimensões do cinema em Le Corbusier”
April 24th – “A encenação da intimidade: o banheiro no cinema internacional”

With a Degree and PhD in Architecture, Josefina Cubero has been an Associate Professor since 1997 in the Department of Architectural Theory and Design at the Technical School of Architecture, University of Valladolid, Spain.
She was a member of the work and research team JMAD Architecture, Landscape and Heritage from 1986 to 2009, having designed plans, projects and interventions to enhance both the architectural heritage and cultural landscapes. Such works have been presented at many national and international conferences as well as exhibitions; they have also been included in numerous publications and have been awarded various mentions and honours.
Her research interests include modernist and contemporary architecture, especially the works by Le Corbusier, and the relationship between architecture and other arts. She is a collaborating researcher at the Centro de Estudos Arnaldo Araújo in Porto, Portugal (since 2007) and a member of the Instituto Universitario de Urbanística (IUU) at the University of Valladolid (since 2019).

The IST-CiTUA ARCH TALKS SPRING 2024 aims to promote the discussion of topics relevant to the practice and research of architecture, with the participation of national and international guests.»
