The Masterclass on Prevention of Construction and Demolition Waste: PCDW project “ will take place on June 6.
The Masterclass is held within the scope of the Circular Economy Project (PCDW – Prevention of Construction and Demolition Waste), of “Supporting a New Environmental Culture” from the Environmental Fund. The objective of this project is to provide educational actions directed towards several stakeholders along the supply chain associated with CDW, thereby supporting their interaction in order to promote an effective sustainable organization capable of valorising the waste, according with the principles of circular economy. This project bets on a greater awareness for the prevention of CDW as well as their valorisation, by promoting their inclusion in the construction sector, thereby decreasing their carbon footprint, reducing the extraction of natural resources and avoiding the landfilling of wastes.
The theme of this project is also of the general public’s interest, representing a greater awareness to the issue regarding illegal CDW discharges, which may contain hazardous components capable of hindering the environment and degrade the landscape.
