Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo Award will be presented on February 9, at 4 p.m., in salão nobre – Instituto Superior Técnico.
Maria da Graça Carvalho, member of the European Commission’s Scientific Advice Mechanism and rapporteur for the Specific Programme implementing Horizon 2020, and Inês Godet, currently PhD student at Johns Hopkins University, were the winners of this first edition.
The award is intended to recognise and reward annually two women, graduated at Técnico:
i) a former student who has completed her studies at IST for over 15 years, by 31st December 2015, and who has made outstanding contributions throughout her professional career;
ii) a recently graduated from IST, under 27 years by 31st December 2015, whose Master’s thesis has been distinguished for its scientific quality, and whose academic performance at IST has been remarkable.
