About POEMS: Portuguese Competence Centre for Semiconductors

POEMS is co-funded by the European Union and the Foundation for Science and Technology. With this event, POEMS reinforces its position as a reference platform within the Portuguese Strategy for Semiconductors, integrating a European network of 30 competence centres under the European Chips Act and Chips JU.

The 16 partners of POEMS, which include Instituto Superior Técnico, Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores – Investigação e Desenvolvimento em Lisboa (INESC-ID), Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) and Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores – Microsistemas e Nanotecnologias (INESC-MN), are responsible for monitoring work carried out in microelectronics and semiconductors, assessing the country’s needs in this area and promoting interaction between academia, research and business. Additionally, they bring scientific and technological expertise to the project, supporting the sector in skills training and the development of technological and business solutions.
