On November 15, at 3 p.m., Anant Agarwal will present “Reinventing education” at Alameda campus (Salão Nobre).
Anant Agarwal, a successful entrepreneur, is the CEO of edX, an online learning destination founded by Harvard and MIT. He is a professor of electrical engineering and computer science at MIT and he has served as the director of CSAIL, MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory
He holds a Guinness World Record for the largest microphone array, his work on Organic Computing was selected by Scientific American as one of 10 World-Changing Ideas in 2011, and he was named in Forbes’ list of top 15 education innovators in 2012.
MOOC courses at Técnico are open online courses designed to offer free and certified online training, with relevant and current contents. Anyone interested in learning or update knowledge on the most diverse areas can enroll and participate in MOOC courses at Técnico. The MOOC Técnico platform, based on Open edX, launched its first course in October 2016 and has already 3400 registered users!
Six courses were launched between 2016 and 2017. It is expected the creation of two new courses until 2017, in the area of mathematics and physics. Currently, seven new courses are being developed to be launched in 2018. MOOC courses at Técnico have achieved excellent results when compared with other international projects and initiatives within this scope.
