The talk “As muitas caras da casa moderna brasileira” (“The many faces of the modern Brazilian house”) will take place on March 11, at Instituto Superior Técnico, as part of the IST-CiTUA ARCH TALKS SPRING 2024.

This series of talks is promoted by the Center for Innovation in Territory, Urbanism and Architecture (CiTUA), and coordinated by Ana Tostões, Professor and researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico.

As in previous editions, the IST-CiTUA ARCH TALKS SPRING 2024 aims to promote the discussion of topics relevant to the practice and research of architecture, with the participation of national and international guests.

Marta Peixoto is an architect with a Ph.D. in History and Theory of Architecture from PROPAR (2006), the Architecture Research and Graduate Program of UFRGS, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Currently, she is a full professor at the Department of Architecture and at PROPAR, where she teaches Design and History of Architecture. She is the president of Docomomo Brazil, the secretary of the Interior Design Committee of Docomomo International and a member of the 20th Century Committee of ICOMOS Brazil.
She has written for architecture magazines and journals and is one of the editors of Docomomo Brazil Magazine; she coordinates research projects and a research group with professors, graduates, and undergraduate students. Since 2019, she has had a CNPq (a federal agency that fosters academic research in Brazil) productivity grant as a researcher.
