Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) is pleased to announce the concert ‘Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1’, on 28 June 2025, at 9 p.m., in Aula Magna. The concert is part of the ‘Music at the Universidade de Lisboa’ programme, in partnership with the ULisboa Academic Orchestra.

Although initially misunderstood, this first symphony has consolidated itself over time as an essential work in the symphonic repertoire, revealing the composer’s unique ability to fuse the trivial and the transcendent, the popular and the erudite, in a profoundly expressive and visionary orchestral language.
