The Biennial Competition of Doctoral Dissertations in Architecture ‘arquia/tesis’, organised by Fundación arquia, is a prestigious competition for doctoral dissertations with the aim of placing value on the academic work done at doctoral level at the Schools of Architecture in Spain and Portugal.
Spanish and Portuguese architects who have presented their doctoral thesis at any school or university in the world, as well as all those foreign architects whose doctoral thesis has been presented at any Spanish or Portuguese university are eligible to apply. The doctoral theses must be written in its original language, unpublished and have been approved with distinction and praise.
Applications for the 13th Biennial Competition of Doctoral Dissertations in Architecture 2021 are open until 26th March 2021, at 12:00 (Spanish time) and 11:00 (mainland Portugal).

The Jury will award a single first prize and two honourable mentions.
