Thales Arduino Competition – Showcase session selects the team that will be representing Portugal in the world competition

Measure Inc., a team composed of students Diogo Oliveira, Cristina Marta Rosa and Miguel Penaguião, created a distance measuring device.

Técnico promotes the participation of students in the world’s largest Arduino competition. In this way, a showcase session to select the team that will be representing Portugal in the world competition was held at Técnico on December 14.

Each group presented their project to the jury, explaining their motivations and presenting a video on their work.

Three teams competed in this challenge: Helmet, AFP Rover Team and Measure Inc. The latter was the winning team and was composed of students Diogo Oliveira, Cristina Marta Rosa and Miguel Penaguião. The student group created a distance measuring device and will represent Portugal in the finals, competing with the winning teams from the other countries. The prize for the winners is a visit to a Thales’ Research Centre of their choice.

The teams had the opportunity to visit the Innovation Hub and Thales laboratories. Two years of partnership between Técnico and Thales were also celebrated on this occasion.
