ULISSES – University of Lisbon Interdisciplinary Studies on Sustainable Environment and Seas is a project that will provide students with a deep knowledge of ocean related problems.
Who For?
Addressed to students willing to be part of a multidisciplinary team composed by colleagues from other national and foreign universities, this initiative takes place over several weeks, in which students will be challenged to present solutions that contribute to the current challenge of Ocean Sustainability.

The programme is free and completion confers 6 ECTS credits.
The teaching programme involves the University of Lisbon, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the Technische Universität Darmstadt.
Calendar 2026
- Applications until 15th December, 2025
- Preparatory phase from 26th January to 4th April (e-learning, compatible with classes)
- Team Project from 6th July – 24th July (in Lisbon)
- Final presentation: 24th July (in Lisbon)
For expenses related with mobility activity, students from EU and other Erasmus+ Partner Countries may apply for grants at their home institution.
ULISSES is a project of UNITE! (University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering), a network of universities in seven countries that will set a new model for a European virtual and physical inter-university campus. UNITE! will transform European higher education through multidisciplinary, multicultural and multilingual education, research and entrepreneurship providing skills for a new generation of European and global citizens and Europe leadership as a knowledge area.
