Applications for the “Machine Learning, Maths & Ethics: Hands-on” online course, are now open. This course is aimed at girls aged 15-21 from Portugal and Brazil and will take place from 31st March to 1st July 2022 (60 hours).
The course is part of the “Heroine’s Learning Journey” project, taking participants through increasing levels of challenges while training them in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). This will be an opportunity for young women with the same interests to meet each other, in various parts of the world.
The course follows the guidelines of the FOSTWOM Erasmus project – Fostering Women to STEM MOOCs intends to use the inclusive potential of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to propose STEM subjects free of stereotypes on gender skills. It is expected that this course will attract girls and increase the number of young women in STEM careers.
This initiative is carried out by Técnico – Taguspark campus, in partnership with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and is part of a PhD research project developed by Luís Costa and Ana Moura Santos.
