«Open Call for PhD Fellowships Unite! ULisboa, from 20th July to 21st August 2023 under the collaboration agreement between Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) and Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), as part of the European University Unite!.
ULisboa is part of the Unite! – University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering, together with Technishe Universität Darmstadt (Germany), Aalto University (Finland), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Grenoble INP – UGA (France), Politecnico di Torino (Italy), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain), Graz University of Technology (Austria) and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland).
ULisboa awards the PhD Fellowships Unite! in three Unite! priority areas, although not excluding others areas:
• Energy conversion and storage (photovoltaics, wind, batteries, hydrogen)
• Artificial intelligence
• Industry 4.0
List of projects developed in partnership with Técnico and one of the other Unite!’s partner universities:
- Artificial Intelligence – Machine learning for optimization of plasma-assisted conversion of CO2;
- Artificial Intelligence – Development of a general, ultra-low-power computing architecture for data acquisition and AI/ML processing on edge, based on spiking neural networks (SNN);
- Artificial Intelligence – Learning-BasedProgram Repair: AdvancingSoftware Quality and Productivity;
- Energy – Sodium supercapacitors: a new path to enable high power energy storage;
- Energy – Biobased metal containing carbon materials: a sustainable path to power energy storage;
- Energy – Enhanced Underground Thermal Energy Storage solution utilizing diaphragm walls to create an efficient thermal heat storage location;
- Industry 4.0 – Healthcare 4.0: Developing management science and analytics models and tools to support the design and implementation of genomic-related policies and services in Portugal;
- Industry 4.0 – Additive Manufacturing (AM) and Predictive Maintenance: Agile spare parts’ management;
- Industry 4.0 – Contribution to multi-material 3D printing of parts with embedded functionalities;
- Industry 4.0 – Lean & Green, the Industrial Management model for the Industry 5.0.
