Getting into Técnico is the goal of many students entering the National Competition for Access to Public Higher Education, which is reflected in some of the country’s highest Minimum Grade Points (MGP), colloquially known as ‘admission averages’.
This year, the Undergraduate Programme in Aerospace Engineering at Técnico has the second highest MGP at national level, with 186.8 points, sharing the position with the Medicine course at the University of Porto. The Undergraduate Programmes at Técnico with the second and third highest MGP are Engineering Physics (181.0) and Computer Science and Engineering (179.5 at Alameda campus), thus being included in the top 10 highest ‘admission averages’ in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at national level.
In addition – and in line with the growing trend in recent years – the percentage of students admitted at Técnico on their first choice course reached 75%. In total, 1631 new undergraduate students were admitted to Técnico for the 2023/24 academic year.
The MGPs of the other Undergraduate Programmes at Técnico are as follows:
Architecture (Integrated Master Programme) – 153,5
Environmental Engineering – 135,5
Biological Engineering – 151,3
Biomedical Engineering – 171,3
Civil Engineering – 121,8
Electronics Engineering – 123,8
Electrical and Computer Engineering – 131,8
Industrial Engineering and Management – 165,8
Computer Science and Engineering (Taguspark Campus ) – 171,0
