An information session on Armilar’s new tech transfer fund took place this Tuesday, 19th February, aiming to provide relevant information and demystify some ideas about these investment funds.
Engineer Pedro Ribeiro Santos, partner at Armilar Venture Partners and also a Técnico alumnus, shared important information with students, professors and researchers. According to engineer Pedro Ribeiro Santos “entrepreneurship is a great career option nowadays”. The Técnico alumnus explained, in a very clear way, the essence of venture capital and its importance.
Professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira, Vice-President of IST for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Relations, moderated the session and clarified some doubts. Engineer Pedro Ribeiro Santos talked about the risks and cautions of a company that manages these funds and highlighted the importance of “a continuous communication” with the fund’s investors. The Armilar’s successful experiences in managing these funds, the fund’s investors and the priority given to national projects were some of the topics addressed during the session.
