Bill Gates recommends a book by Técnico alumnus to understand Artificial Intelligence

According to Bill Gates, the book “The Master Algorithm”, by Pedro Domingos, a Técnico alumnus and professor at Washington University, is one of the two books “we should all read” to understand Artificial Intelligence.

The founder of Microsoft never misses an opportunity to plug books he likes and yesterday, at Code Conference, an event where top industry influencers gather for in-depth conversations about the current and future impact of digital technology on our lives, he recommended Pedro Domingo’s book and “Superintelligence”, by Nick Bostrom.

According to Bill Gates, artificial intelligence “is the most exciting thing going on”. “It’s the holy grail, it’s the big dream that anybody who’s ever been in computer science has been thinking about.”

The book by Pedro Domingos, published last year, is an introduction to Machine Learning and how it relates to everyday life. Professor Pedro Domingos will deliver a lecture titled “The Five Tribes of Machine Learning, and What You Can Take from Each” on June 27, at Técnico.
