The Culture Clash workshop, which is part of the Orientation Week, brought together students from Brazil, Finland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Italy, Chile, Germany, France, Austria, Hungary, Sweden, Romania, Belgium, Colombia, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Czech Republic, Greece and Canada, among many others.
This event is organised by NAPE – Student Support Unit, with the support of the Mobility and International Cooperation Office (NMCI), and aims to welcome the newly arrived international students this semester through cultural activities, presentations and guided visits.
During the workshop, Samuel Franco, member of NAPE, noted that Técnico’s main goal is that “everyone has academic success, but also take advantage of this experience”. Ágata Nicolau, from NMCI, asked the audience “Are you feeling happy? So just dance!” and then explained students how to become better integrated.
Several activities will be organised by NAPE’s team during the weekend: a city-rally in Lisbon, a welcome dinner, guided visits to Lisbon and Sintra, and a “Bodyboard day”.
