On 4 November, Técnico – Alameda campus hosted another edition of i.Talks Técnico-Brisa, an initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration between the School and the company by integrating academic knowledge into solutions applicable to Brisa’s operations. The session provided an opportunity for Técnico researchers and professors to present ideas with potential for implementation in research and development projects, master’s dissertations, or practical tests in real environments.
Pedro Amaral, Vice-President of Técnico for Corporate Interface, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, highlighted the importance of the partnership and its potential to generate concrete results. According to Pedro, the partnership opens new horizons and encourages technology transfer: “Our goal is to work diligently so that the ideas presented can indeed be implemented and generate impact”.
During the session, the Técnico community presented proposals in various priority areas of Brisa, a member of the Técnico Partner Network, which included: Asset Maintenance and Management, with solutions for automated inspection, real-time monitoring and infrastructure preservation; and Efficiency and Robotisation in Maintenance, including the application of robotics, computer vision and automation of recurring tasks. The proposals presented may evolve into solutions applicable at Brisa, with potential funding and real-world implementation.
The deputy director for scientific activities at Técnico research units, Fátima Montemor, who moderated the session, thanked all participants and highlighted the relevance of the contributions: “Your presence has helped to create synergies that may have a significant impact in the future. I want to thank everyone for attending, for the questions raised and for everything that was shared during the session”.
