Rodrigo Teixeira, an undergraduate student in Computer Science and Engineering at Técnico, had his ‘INNUOS SEED’ scholarship renewed. The ceremony took place on 12 September, at Técnico – Alameda campus. Without any prepared words for the occasion, the student chose to be spontaneous in his speech saying ‘thank you from the bottom of my heart’, to the INNUOS representative.

Francisco Melo, vice-president of Técnico for Academic Affairs, expressed gratitude to the patron ‘for providing students with the opportunity to pursue their dreams and complete their academic journey’. He congratulated the scholarship holder and wished him ‘success in his future path, and who knows one day start his own company and help others’. João Fernando Ferreira, the coordinator of Rodrigo’s undergraduate program, thanked INNUOS and emphasised that the scholarship represents more than just financial aid—it is a vote of confidence in the student’s work.

Amélia Santos, CEO of INNUOS and a Técnico alumna, said she was ‘very happy’ to meet the student, and recalled that ‘for us [the company’s coordinators], the academic journey at Técnico was very important’. In this sense, ‘when the company started to grow, we felt that we wanted to give back and encourage other people to follow their dreams’.

‘Computers have always been a passion of mine since I was a child,’ shared Rodrigo Teixeira, who enjoys “creating websites and applications” the most. This scholarship has already “helped a lot” in the past and will enable him to continue pursuing his passion while being involved in voluntary activities.

Undergraduate and Master’s students at Técnico can apply for scholarships until 25 September.
