On 17th October, the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI) inaugurated a new space at the Beato Creative Hub. The ceremony was attended by the president of Instituto Superior Técnico, Rogério Colaço, the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, the presidents of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture of Universidade de Lisboa, António Macêdo and Carlos Coelho, as well as Inês Oom de Sousa, president of the Santander Portugal Foundation, one of the funders of this research centre.
Totalling 580 m2, the space will serve the ITI’s research activities and is divided into two adjacent modules, each with a ground floor and a mezzanine. The event included various research demonstrations – students and researchers had the opportunity to present their prototypes, such as video games, robots and control units for teleoperated rovers.
The inauguration was part of a meeting of the ITI Advisory Council that took place on 16th and 17th October. A recap video of the event and the inauguration is available here:
