Project supported by Técnico wins ESA contest

Secondary school students won ESA contest with the support of professor João Sequeira from ISR

Carlota Fernandes, Diogo Repas and Nelson Rebelo, students from Escola Secundária Sebastião e Silva, in Oeiras, won the Odysseus II contest for their project of designing a robot to Mars exploration.

These students had the support of professor João Sequeira, from the Institute for Systems and Robotics at Instituto Superior Técnico, and were awarded the title of Special Ambassadors of European Youth, which allowed them to win a trip to French Guiana.

LEARS (Learning Robotics in Space) is the name of the robot that won the Odysseus II contest and that stood out from the other 210 projects from 23 countries.
