Talent Search Meeting brings together Técnico students and Novabase-Celfocus

A dozen students had the opportunity to meet and learn from 6 Técnico alumni who work at the tech company.

A Talent Search Meeting with Novabase – Celfocus took place online, last Wednesday, 19th November. The Técnico students had the opportunity to learn more about careers at Novabase-Celfocus, a company that is part of Novabase Group.

“This meeting will allow you to learn more about Novabase-Celfocus, its vision and mission, and to understand the importance of its brand”, said the Vice-president of Técnico for Operations and Enterprise Relationships, professor Pedro Amaral, who also thanked the students for their presence. The Técnico Vice-president highlighted the importance of these companies for Técnico graduates. “We will continue to support you to enter the job market ”.

Six Técnico alumni who currently work at Novabase – Paulo Anjos, Frontend Developer, Ana Caldeira, Business Analyst, Bernardo Oliveira Pinto, Technical Architect, Beatriz Santos, Business Analyst, Nuno Vilela Pais, Big Data Engineer, and Nuno Cortesão, Blockchain & DLT Lead – shared their experiences, career paths and gave students some advice.

The Técnico students clarified their doubts regarding routines and workload, how to create a career plan, recruitment process and how the company adapted to remote work.

“One of the things I’ve learned in the world of work is that usually there are older colleagues who talk to us, help us to discover what we are good at, and how we can be happier at work”, highlighted Nuno Cortesão. “At this moment we are hiring more than ever before, because we have won very large-scale projects and we need more people. We are going through a very difficult time, but I think that my working area has been relatively steady in terms of employability ”, highlighted Beatriz Santos.

“Don’t be afraid to talk and to share your ideas. Sometimes, when we start to work in a company, we feel uncomfortable doing that. But it helped me a lot”, said the alumna Ana Caldeira.

This activity is part of Técnico’s Young Talents Recruitment Programme (Talents @ Técnico), organised by the Technology Transfer Office (TT @ Técnico).
