For the second consecutive year, “Valor Econômico” newspaper recognised Miguel Setas, CEO of EDP Brazil, the best business leader in the Energy category.

23 business executives working in different sectors of the Brazilian economy were awarded at the 20th edition of the ceremony “Executivo de Valor”: The choice was made based on the analysis of more than 450 names suggested by 16 executive recruiting firms affiliated to the Association of Executive Search Consultants (Aesc), and taking into account for example the business executives’ performance at the head of the company in 2019, the history and reputation of leadership in the market.

The Técnico alumnus has led EDP in Brazil since 2014 and he is member of the EDP group’s worldwide Board since 2015. Miguel Setas began his career as a consultant and has held leadership positions in various sectors, such as Oil and Gas, Telecommunications and Transport. He was also president of the Brazilian operation of EDP Renewables.

Under the management of Miguel Setas, EDP Brazil achieved the best financial results in its history in 2018 and 2019.
