Técnico and PLMJ strengthen partnership

The protocol signed this Monday will strengthen the collaboration started in 2014 between the two entities.

This Monday, 16th December, Instituto Superior Técnico and PLMJ strengthened the collaboration started in 2014. Professor Arlindo Oliveira, President of Técnico, and Jorge Martins, Managing Associate at PLMJ (Technology, Privacy & Data Protection and Intellectual Property), signed a protocol that will further develop joint projects and initiatives.

“We are very pleased to sign this protocol with Técnico, which we consider to be Portuguese leading school. The idea is to keep the already existing collaboration between the two entities and to promote activities according to the objectives defined”, said Jorge Martins. “Technology is undoubtedly a very challenging subject. The interface between technology and law is very important taken into account the major challenges ahead”, said the President of Técnico.

This protocol will provide training actions, events, elaboration of scientific texts. One of the most ambitious projects is the creation of the first “laboratory” in Portugal to analyse the technology’s effect on society and to study its possible regulations.
