On 4 October, the Técnico Innovation Center hosted the 3rd Sports Gala dinner of the Técnico Students’ Union (AEIST). Various individual athletes and teams were honoured during the event.
The president of Técnico, Rogério Colaço, congratulated those present and AEIST, to whom he asked for an ovation for organising the event. ‘We’re incredibly proud of our students’, he emphasised.
The rector of Universidade de Lisboa, Luís Ferreira, repeated the same question several times throughout his speech, addressing the audience’s athletes. ‘You invest so many hours training and yet you’re still excellent students – how do you do that?’, adding that ‘you are an example to us all’.
Pedro Monteiro, president of AEIST, showed his appreciation for the coaches and sports leaders and highlighted the support of Técnico and Universidade de Lisboa ‘in recognising the achievements of the athletes’. ‘What we see here is a constant search for excellence,’ he emphasised.
